We are equipped with modern and competitive gadgets and tools specifically meant to manufacturing of concrete pipes and staves which are the only focus of our production line.

For being operational at the market for 18 years, we have reached experience regarding the production of such pre-molded material which has credited us to develop specific and exclusive projects for the manufacture of those products. Some of our equipment was initially imported from Europe and that enabled us to increase experience and pushed us to improve and develop new technologies.

Today we own a complete and fully equipped laboratory to accomplish any experiment determined by the ABNT norms for the quality control of manufactured products. We also perform tests on a daily basis to check raw material quality which is destined to the manufacturing process, for this is an essential attitude in order to get high-quality products.

Diameter compression experiments are done in a hydraulic press machine with the capacity for 100 tons equipped with a load cell and a specific management software for such reason.

Joints permeability experiments are done with hydraulic equipment specially projected for this purpose to control deflections which allows experiment trials to be performed safely.

Our further equipment and accessories enable the performance of other trials such as conservatory for water absorption test; sieves complex to determine aggregated granulometric trials; extractors for taking out test bodies; hydraulic press machine to rupture test bodies; tests to determine concrete resistance to compression and others.

We work with laboratory researchers full-time controlling and operating lab installations in order to keep quality control of the process and the finished products.

Besides, we have formed partnership with some universities to do certain experiments and develop new products.

UNIVERSITY PARTNERSHIP

- Poli-technical School of the University of São Paulo (Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo – POLI/USP)

We have recently formed a partnership with the Civil Engineering Department of the Poli-technical School of the University of São Paulo to develop several activities which are always coordinated by Professor Doctor Engineer Antonio Domingues de Figueiredo. The last work to be accomplished was “the analysis of the feasibility for use of metallic fibers in concrete pipes” which is attached to this site and recently published in 52 nd Brazilian Congress for Concrete – CBC 2010 that was realized by IBRACON in October 2010.

We have also worked with the Structures Department of the Civil Engineering School of São Carlos of the University of São Paulo under coordination of Professor Doctor Mounir Khalil El Debs, titular professor for this department whose objective was the evaluation of the contribution of the concrete pipes bags to the final resistance of the product.

Fermix has contributed to the universities in the development of new products as well as in field research by opening up their installations for plenty of studies.

We have also allowed visitation for groups of college students so that they get acquainted with industrial facilities and manufacturing processes in order to stimulate specialists improvement in this area.

By doing so, we are ready to serve those who may get interested in new research projects and development of new technologies.
